L'étang suspendu

2012 – (The suspended pond)

I am producing performances in order to perceive things I would not see apart from on stage. Things that would not be visible in everyday life. For me to “perceive” them, there is a need for something to happen at a specific moment, something which is not part of a flow anymore, but that must be excepted, something which makes an imprint on my eye, offering an experience. What I am talking about here is the possibility of a hiatus between the distant body of the dancer inexorably approaching the audience and the breathing of her movement within each spectator’s ear via earphones. Inside this discordant space, we are trying to get closer to certain visions that are part of us in order to question them with our own bodies.
